- Is there an accessible pipe
chase?
- If yes, select a rear mounted
fixture that is secured to the wall with anchor bolts through
the wall.
- If no accessible pipe chase
is available, a front mounted fixture should be selected which
can accommodate valving inside the fixture body.
- Choose the drain outlet
for the lavatory basin.
- Choose the waste piping
configuration for the lavatory.
- elbow waste
- P trap waste
- Grid strainer with tailpiece
- For integral stainless steel
waste configurations, specify plain end or FIPT outlet connection.
- Choose the faucet or valve
to be used.
- Choose the lavatory spout
to be used if a separate spout is appropriate for the valve chosen.
- If the fixture is rear mounted
(with anchor rods) and is being installed on a poured concrete
or masonry wall, is a security frame (wall sleeve) desired?
Selecting a drinking fountain is similar to selecting a lavatory fixture and the same guidelines can be used for selection.
